The Blanchard Machine Company was originally formed in Boston by Winslow Blanchard in 1899. In 1911 they created the first Blanchard surface grinder. This type of grinder became so popular that "Blanchard" became the common name for vertical rotary grinding. The Blanchard Machine Company name was changed to the Cone-Blanchard Machine Company after it was purchased by Pneumo-Dymanics. The Match and Cone-Blanchard Company was bought by the DeVlieg Bullard Services which was, in turn, acquired by Bourn & Koch, Inc. in 2004.

Since 2004, Bourn & Koch, Inc. has been the OEM for Blanchard Rotary Surface Grinding CNC Machines addition to manufacturing new ones. They take pride in keeping these machines running to the present day as well as keeping the quality of this American-built industry alive.
