Originally, this company manufactured heavy-duty industrial gasoline engines. Bill Denison acquired Cook in 1925 and invented the hydraulic car pusher. Over the next few decades, the company underwent several acquisitions until it finally went public as Denison International plc in 1997.

In 1943 the Denison Engineering Company under Bill Denison develop the first C-frame press which they named the "Multipress". Over the next eight years 8,000 of these multipurpose machines were built and sold. Over the next 30 years, Denison focused making the Multipress faster and more affordable, as well as better suited to precision operations. Multipress became its own company in 1982 and was acquired Quality Products, Inc. in 1989. Today, Multipress, Inc. offers a complete line of floor 4-post, floor model, bench, and custom engineered presses that incorporate the latest hydraulic and electronic control technology.
