Used Gisholt Machines
Machinesused.com is an online auction that buys and sells used Gisholt machines.
Gisholt Machine Co. was founded by John A. Johnson in Madison, WI, in 1889. Originally, Johnson established this company to produce a heavy duty turret lathe that had been developed specifically to be used in the manufacturing process at the Fuller and Johnson Mfg. Co. which was also owned by Johnson. Later, Gisholt also provided the first gas engines that were also used at Fuller & Johnson.
By World War I, the Gisholt Machine Co. had increased its manufacturing line to include the production of vertical boring mills, screw machines, precision balancing machine and grinding machinery, and semiautomatic machines used for building automobile flywheels and ring gears. In 1966 Giddings & Lewis acquired Gisholt that, in turn, increased their production capacity by one-third.
